As of April 15, 2008, coaches are no longer able to text message or instant message (IM) prospects, until the prospect has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI). Until that time, the only permissible form of electronic communications will be fax and e-mail (on or after September 1 of the prospect's junior year).
