Indiana University can boast about 23 team NCAA titles and more than 160 individual National Champions in various sports. Even with all that history, we are always looking to the future. We are thrilled you are considering becoming a part of that future, and we want to do whatever we can to make that process go smoothly for you.
The first thing you need to do if you are interested in playing a sport in college is to register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Center. Click on the link for Prospective Student Athletes and follow the directions.
The next step is taking care of business with your high school classes. Check out the NCAA Freshman-Eligibility Standards Quick Reference Sheet. Early in your senior year of high school, you should also go ahead and apply for admission to IU and start to look at possible financial aid options.
Once you have made your decision, you will most likely sign a National Letter of Intent. As you go through the process, do not be afraid to ask questions to make sure you are on the right track.
Indiana University has an institutionally approved Recruiting Policy which applies to all official and unofficial visitors to our campus when they attend for recruiting purposes. This document is available HERE.
