Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach


Elaine Deppe is in her first year as a strength and conditioning coach at Indiana. In addition to field hockey, Deppe works with the rowing, softball football and track teams.

Deppe comes to Indiana after spending one year as a graduate assistant at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Penn. At La Salle, she directly oversaw the men's and women's rowing, women's lacrosse, women's swimming, volleyball, softball and diving teams. Deppe also assisted with the field hockey, men's and women's basketball, baseball and track and field teams. Prior to her time at La Salle, Deppe completed an internship with IU's Varsity Strength and Conditioning department in the summer of 2007.

Deppe graduated with a fitness specialist degree with a coaching minor from Indiana University in 2007. She started working on a Masters in Education while at La Salle. She has the USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Certification.

Deppe was a member of the rowing team for four years while at Indiana. She received the "Most Dedicated Athlete Award" and the "Team Leadership Award" in 2006. She was named team captain for the 2006-2007 season and received Alpha Beta distinction all four years for her achievements in the classroom.
