    Director of Compliance - Monitoring

    Andy Humes joined the Indiana University Athletics Compliance Office in 2008. In 2009, Humes was promoted to his current position, Director of Compliance - Monitoring. Humes is responsible for monitoring all recruiting activities, CARA activities, agent and advisor interaction with student-athletes, international amateurism issues with prospective student-athletes, coaches' outside appearances, drafting institutional self-reports and NCAA waiver requests, conducting internal and external investigations when necessary and providing rules interpretations to coaches and staff. Additionally, Humes supervises the monitoring of playing and practice seasons, outside competition and missed class time. Humes has served as the compliance liaison for men's basketball and currently is the compliance liaison for football.

    Humes is a 2002 graduate of Indiana University and a 2005 graduate, with honors, of the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. A licensed attorney, Humes practiced business litigation at Ice Miller, LLP, in Indianapolis from 2005-2008 before deciding to pursue a career in collegiate athletics administration. He currently serves as an adjunct professor for Business Law at Ivy Tech Community College in addition to his employment at Indiana and is a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance. Andy is a Bloomington native, having graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1998.
