    Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach (Football)


    • Maurice Sims joined Indiana as an assistant strength and conditioning coach on Feb. 6.

    • Came to Bloomington after serving in the same capacity at North Carolina A&T State University since Sept. 2012.

    • Sims was an assistant strength coach for football and the head strength coach for basketball, baseball, softball and track and field.

    • Worked with the football, basketball, tennis and track and field programs at Bethune-Cookman University during the 2011-12 year.

    • A football strength intern coach at the University of Tennessee from Dec. 2010-July 2011.

    • All-conference defensive back at Concord University prior to transferring to the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and playing for the USFL's Tennessee Crush.

    • Combined for 110 tackles, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one interception and one touchdown in 2005 and 2006.

    • Earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Tennessee-Chattanooga and his master's degree in transformative leadership: strength and performance from Bethune-Cookman.

    • Sims is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weight Lifting Club Coach and American Safety and Health Institute (CPR and AED).
