Shinichiro `Shinbo' Sugiura joined the Indiana staff in 2007. He has been responsible for cross country and track and field during his tenure as a Hoosier. Sugiura played an important role in keeping the athletes healthy during a 2008-09 season that saw the Hoosiers reel in five Big Ten titles and eight All-America certificates. Previously, he spent four years at the University of Southern Maine where he worked for men's soccer, wrestling, cheerleading, ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, and various other teams. He also worked as an approved clinical instructor for Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education undergraduates there. Prior to Southern Maine, he worked in a clinic and outreach setting in Maine from 2002-2003. Sugiura received his M.S. at Indiana State University in 2002. He earned a B.S. from Indiana State University in 2001 and a B.A. from Chukyo University, Japan in 1997. Shinbo resides in Bloomington. |
