Indiana Routs Gannon With Season-High 17 goals

ERIE, Pa. - With the regular season coming to an end after this weekend, the Indiana women's water polo team hit the road to take on the remaining six opponents in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division. First up on the schedule for the weekend was Gannon University and the Hoosiers scored a season-high in goals en route to a 17-5 win.
In keeping with their consistency across the board on offense, the Hoosiers were led in scoring by Kelly Palmberg's 3 goals while four others recorded a pair of goals in win. In the first half it was Palmberg and Zimmerman scoring four of the six IU goals to take a 6-2 lead. The offense kept humming along in the second half on its way to outscoring Gannon 11-3.
Palmberg completed the hat trick in the third period and was one of five different Hoosiers to score in the period. In the fourth period four different freshmen scored for IU (12-13, 1-1 CWPA Western) on their way to six goals in the period and 17 in the match.
Katie Carson made eight saves in goal to get the win for Indiana.
The Hoosiers will stay in Erie on Saturday to take on Penn State-Behrend at 9 a.m. and Mercyhurst at Noon before taking on Grove City at 7 p.m. that night.
