
Blackmon Becomes 28th McDonald's All-American for Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball signee James Blackmon Jr., became the 28th Hoosier to be named a McDonald's All-American, the committee announced on ESPNU on Wednesday, Jan. 29. It marks the fourth consecutive year that an Indiana signee has received the honor (Cody Zeller, Kevin Yogi Ferrell, Noah Vonleh, Blackmon)
Blackmon (Marion, Ind./Marion High School), a 6-4 guard, was recently selected to the USA Basketball Junior National Select team and is averaging 36.3 points per game as a senior. He has scored 40 or more points in a game on three occasions and even surpassed 54 points in his first game of the season. For his career, he has scored over 2,000 points and is among the top 10 in scoring all-time in Indiana high school basketball. Blackmon's father was also named a McDonald's All-American in 1983.
The 2013 McDonald's All-America game will take place on April 2 at the United Center in Chicago, and will air on ESPN at 9:30 p.m. ET. Blackmon will play on the East squad.
