BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team, coming off a victory against Northwestern will battle No. 4 Minnesota on Wednesday Oct. 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET in a nationally televised match on the Big Ten Network.
Last year Indiana and Minnesota split their two matches with each team winning at home, including the Hoosiers 35-33 win in set four at University Gym to knock off Minnesota.
This season the Golden Gophers come into the match with the best record in the Big Ten at 17-3 overall and 9-1 in the conference. Minnesota is led by outside hitter Daly Santana, who lead the Big Ten in kills with 333.
On Saturday the Hoosiers beat Northwestern in three sets, with senior Amelia Anderson leading the way with 12 kills and a .579 hitting efficiency.
"I think we had a very clear game plan for Northwestern," IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said. "The court was very calm and I think they play very well in those situations. We led most of the way, but in matches we are going to get down and we need to keep that calm presence and stay focused and not get into so much of an emotional rollercoaster."
"We are excited to be live on the Big Ten Network on Wednesday against Minnesota," Dunbar-Kruzan added. "We are going to play maybe the best team in the Big Ten in Minnesota and we are ready for that challenge."
