Bryant Earns B1G Frosh of Week Award

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday and Indiana freshman center Thomas Bryant was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
The native or Rochester, N.Y., averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds and added four blocks as the Hoosiers defeated Austin Peay and Creighton last week. He shot 12-of-16 overall from the field in the two games and a perfect 11-of-11 on 2-point field goals, while also making his first career 3-point field goal.
The last IU player to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Week was James Blackmon Jr., on Jan. 12, 2015.
Indiana opens play at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational today at 5:00 p.m. ET against Wake Forest.
