BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team is home for two matches, starting on Wednesday Nov. 25 at 6:00 p.m. against Michigan and Saturday Nov. 28 against Minnesota.
Notes and Storylines Going into the Match
• Senior Amelia Anderson has 1,102 kills for her career and leads the Hoosiers with 379 this season. Anderson has already exceeded her total of 312 from a season ago and has improved on her hitting efficiency, from .136 last year to .227 this season. Anderson ranks 17th on the Hoosiers all-time list for career kills and needs three kills to move into 16th on the list.
• Senior captain and libero Courtney Harnish recorded her 1,000th career dig at Minnesota on Oct. 28 and now has 1,085 for her career. Harnish became the 12th player in IU school history to reach 1,000 and now ranks seventh in school history in career digs. She needs 43 more digs to move into sixth on the list.
• Junior setter Megan Tallman has 2,811 assists which ranks eighth in IU school history for all-time career assists and is the fourth most in school history in the rally scoring era. She is 30 assists from moving into seventh on the career list.
• Freshman Elizabeth Asdell led the Hoosiers with 12 kills and hit .526 at No. 6 Nebraska on Wednesday. Asdell has led the team in kills on the road against two top-10 opponents in Minnesota and Nebraska.
• Asdell ranks second among all Big Ten freshmen in hitting percentage in conference matches at .256.
• The Hoosiers had 13 aces against Michigan State on Saturday, the most any Big Ten team has had in a four-set match this season. Indiana has three players who have 20 or more aces this season and are the only team in the Big Ten to have three players ranks in the top-15 in the conference in aces.
On the Airwaves
This season Lucas Corley is the voice of IU volleyball. For both road matches and home matches Corley will have audio broadcasts and select BTN Plus matches. Lucas is also the host of the weekly coaches show with IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan. Corley will broadcast the match against Michigan and Minnesota on BTN Plus.
Up Next at Home
Coming up the Hoosiers host Michigan (Nov. 25 at 6:00 p.m.) and Minnesota (Nov. 28 at 7:00 p.m.). Both matches will be Holidays with the Hoosiers, where fans are encouraged to bring toys that the team will donate to families in need. On Saturday the Hoosiers will host senior night and honor their five members of the senior class.
