Below is an installment of a blog originally developed and written by Indiana women's basketball players Tyra Buss, Amanda Cahill and Jess Walter. This post and future posts will be entirely written by these three players. Nothing has changed from the original Fresh Folk Blog except the platform. Enjoy!

It's a new chapter for the Fresh Folk. One that involves grocery shopping, budgeting, and cleanliness. B, TT, and JJ successfully moved into their new apartment over the weekend… And oh my goodness it's going to be a ride.

After two grueling days of hauling stuff up the stairs to the door of our humble abode, we are all moved in. Beez went with a coral and navy color scheme because she wanted to keep her room fun and spontaneous before she moves into full-blown adult life. TT kept it classy with a red and sandish colored scheme. JJ went with an orangey-coral and tan scheme. Tia, our new teammate from Marquette, is going to move in with us in June. The real steal of this whole "furnishing our new place thing" are the pantry racks that have five shelves. Originally made for storing bags of chips and leftover crackers, we have converted them into dressers.

Part of living on our own means we have to feed ourselves. This is slightly a struggle for us, seeing as we can hardly find things in the grocery store. JJ had to call her mom three times in the store to ask where to find things. Who knew that tomato juice would be stored in the juice aisle? B made the executive call that the Folk should shop at Kroger, so now we all have our handy little Kroger cards. And just an FYI, Kroger can divide up the price into three separate orders!! This is bomb, because we are making dinners as a family unit. Our first meal together was spaghetti…because we didn't defrost or thaw, or whatever it's called, our chicken in time.

The cleanliness is a whole different issue. The Folk definitely lacks in this department. In fact, one time last year we got an email from our RA that the janitors couldn't get to our bathroom to clean and requested that we pick up because the smashed cookies on the floor were going to attract bugs. Yikes right! Hey, accept your flaws. However, we are going to try to find a system for the dishes and the trash… Pray for us.
