
Hoosiers Take Road Win at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – The Indiana women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory at Wisconsin on Friday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The Hoosiers (12-11, 3-5) got things started with a win at No. 3 doubles by Caitlin Bernard and Pauline Jahren. Indiana secured the doubles point with a win at the top spot from Madison Appel and Kim Schmider.
The Hoosiers and the Badgers split the first two singles matches as Natalie Whalen won on court four, 6-1, 6-0 and Wisconsin got a point on court one.
Bernard put the Hoosiers up 3-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles and Jahren clinched the match for the Hoosiers with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six.
Kim Schmider won in a 10-point third set and Paula Gutierrez came back from dropping her second set to win her match in the third set.
Up next the Hoosiers travel to Minneapolis, Minn., for a match on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
