Opening Tip
• Indiana University opens its 126th season of competition in men's basketball with a non-conference clash against Alabama A&M at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The game will be broadcast on BTN with Cory Provus and Robbie Hummel on the call.
• Alabama A&M will be under the direction of first-year head coach Donte' Jackson. Sophomore guard Bilal Abdur-Rahman (5.7ppg, 2.3apg) and junior forward Angok Anyang (2.6ppg, 1.7rpg) are the only two Bulldogs that returned to Huntsville this season.
• Senior guard Kintavious Dozier, one of seven transfers to follow Coach Jackson from Grambling State, averaged 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game last season.

Series History
• The season-opener will be the first meeting between Indiana and Alabama A&M. The Hoosiers hold a record of 11-0 in games against current SWAC schools.
• IU last hosted a SWAC school in the non-conference slate of the 2022-23 season. Indiana defeated Bethune-Cookman (101-49) on Nov. 10 and Jackson State (90-51) on Nov. 25 that year.
Last Time Out
• The Hoosiers climbed back to earn a 76-74 victory in the program's final exhibition game of the preseason against Baylor on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
• Fifth-year senior guard Lamar Wilkerson led all scorers in the contest with 26 points to go along with four assists and two rebounds. Redshirt senior forward Tucker DeVries stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks.
• Sixth-year senior guard Tayton Conerway added 17 points, five assists, and three steals. The Troy transfer also sealed the Hoosier victory with a driving layup with just under 8.0 seconds to play.
• The Hoosiers were nearly perfect from the free throw line and finished 20-of-21 from the charity stripe in the win.
Portal Combat
• The Hoosiers underwent a complete overhaul of the roster during the offseason with 10 transfer additions. The class ranked third in the Big Ten Conference and 10th nationally according to 247Sports.
• The class is headlined by top-125 national portal acquisitions in redshirt senior forward Tucker DeVries (West Virginia), fifth-year senior guard Lamar Wilkerson (Sam Houston), senior forward Reed Bailey (Davidson), junior guard Nick Dorn (Elon), sixth-year senior guard Tayton Conerway (Troy), and junior guard Jasai Miles (North Florida).
• The 10-man portal class made 554 starts in NCAA Division I basketball prior to joining the Hoosiers. IU is the only program to bring in at least 10 transfers with 30-plus collegiate starts.
• Indiana joins Baylor, Memphis, Miami (Fla.), UCF, West Virginia, and Xavier as the only high-major programs to return zero points from the 2024-25 roster.
