    Bayer Wins Historic 1,500/5,000m Double

    Emma Kimoto Added a Title in the Women's High Jump

    2008-09 (SOPHOMORE): Indoor: Took fourth at Big Tens with a clearance of 1.75m ... posted the first provisional qualification of her career to win the high jump at the Indiana Invite ... clearance of 1.79m (5-10.5) is a career best and the second best in IU history ... also posted a win at the Indiana Open.Outdoor: Cleared a regional qualifying height of 1.81m (5-11.25) for first place at the Pepsi Team Invitational ... her height is the second best in IU history ... improved an already stellar outdoor season by adding a Big Ten Championship to the mantle, clearing 1.78m to become the first Big Ten high jump champion in the history of the Indiana women's track and field program ... tied for third at the NCAA Mideast Regional, advancing to the NCAA Championships.

    2007-08 (SOPHOMORE): Indoor: Matched her indoor career best of 1.73 meters for a win at the Alex Wilson Invitational ... also cleared 1.73m on Jan. 13 at the Indiana Open.Outdoor: Posted a regional qualifying mark in the high jump at the Stan Lyons Invitational with a clearance of 1.75m ... the regional qualification improved her career best by five centimeters ... added eight centimeters to her best over the course of the season ... matched her career mark for third place at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, garnering the first Big Ten Medal of her career.

    2006-07 (FRESHMAN): Led the Hoosiers in the high jump during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Indoor: Posted a personal-best clearance of 1.73 meters at the Indiana Open II during the indoor season.Outdoor: Recorded top performance of the outdoor season at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 1.67 meters.

    PREP/PERSONAL: Earned first team all-conference honors in 2004, 2005 and 2006 in the high jump ... earned second team all-conference honors in 2003 ... was a sectional champion between 2003-06 and a regional champion between 2004-06 ... placed fourth at state meet in 2004 and 2005, and seventh in 2006 ... helped lead Columbia City to a 2002 sectional championship ... also earned second team all-conference honors as a junior and senior in basketball ... recorded most blocks at Columbia City her junior and senior years ... was a four-time letterwinner in track and field and a three-time letterwinner in basketball.
