    Volunteer Assistant Coach/Sprints

Former Big Ten champion and IU All-American David Neville recently signed a professional contract and will forgo his senior year of eligibility, but will remain a part of IU Track and Field as a student assistant coach under assistant coach George Freeman, assisting with the sprint corps.

Neville helped lead IU's 4x400m relay team to a fifth-place finish at NCAA Outdoor Championships and to a Big Ten relay championship last season. He clocked a personal-best time of 44.94 for third in the finals of the 400m at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Championships, picking up his fifth All-America honor in three years. He also earned individual Big Ten championships during his junior campaign, claiming titles for both the 200m and 400m during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

"David had a great opportunity and signed a professional contract," Heisler said. "We are lucky to now have him on staff as a student assistant."

Neville is currently pursuing his bachelor's in music education.
