    2012-13 (R-FRESHMAN): Indoor: finished in third-place in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:24.99 at the Hoosier Open...set a season-best of 4:09.77 in the mile run to place ninth at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational...Outdoor: finished in second-place in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 3:52.52 at the Alabama Relays...set a season-best time of 3:51.61 in the 1,500-meter run to place ninth at the Polytan Invitational...Competed at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with an 18th place finish in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 14:41.20...set season-best of 14:26.41 to place second in the 5K at the Louisville Border Battle.

    PREP: Owns numerous Westbury school records including the 4x800m relay, the distance medley relay, the indoor 1,600m (4:15.39), indoor 3,200m (9:14.45), indoor 3,000m (8:42.65), outdoor 1,600m (4:12), outdoor 3,200m (9:11) and country country 5K (15:47) ... was a three-time cross country all-state honoree ... was a four-time track all-state honoree ... owns the county meet and course record in the 5K at Bethpage State Park ... earned all-county accolades on 15 occasions and was an 11-time county champion ... earned team MVP honors for indoor track three times, outdoor track twice and cross county three times ... was named Athlete of the Day at the Nassau coaches meet for outdoor track.     Coach Helmer: "Owen has a lot of talent which when harnessed and combined with some consistent long term high level training could produce an outstanding Big Ten and National level competitor. He will benefit from having the opportunity to train with some of the best distance runners in the country as well as the structure and systematic develop provided by our program. His uncle, Deon Cameron, was a relay All American at IU in 1988."
