Stoner To Finals After Day One at Meyo Invite

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Indiana track and field opened competition at the Meyo Invitational on Friday. With most of the Hoosiers' big guns running on Saturday, sophomore sprinter Nick Stoner stole the show for IU on Friday, advancing to the finals in the 60m with the third fastest time in the Big Ten this season.
Nick Stoner ran a time of 6.80 seconds to advance to Saturday's final in the 60 meter dash. The time ranks third in the Big Ten this season and eighth all-time at IU.
Sophie Gutermuth took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.85m (12-7.5). Her clearance matches her career best and ranks among the top eight in the Big Ten this season.
Nathan Pierre-Louis took second in the 500 meters, clocking a time of 1:04.29. His time ranks seventh in IU history and was just .18 out of first.
Emma Kimoto cleared 1.73m (5-8) to tie for second in the high jump. The clearance matched her season best, which is tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
Brie Roller took fourth in the women's 500m with a time of 1:15.26.
