    Hoosiers Off To Good Start at Alabama Relays

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Indiana track and field opened the 2013 outdoor season on Friday at the Alabama Relays. The Hoosiers posted eight top four finishes on the first day of the meet.

    Samantha Ginther took second in the women's 1,500m with a time of 4:31.98, and Owen Skeete was second in the men's 1,500m in 3:52.52, while Jordan Gornall was third in 3:52.57.

    Molly Winters ran 17:02.42 for second overall and first among collegiate competitors in the 5,000 meters. In the men's race, Kyle Overway took third in 14:42.65.

    Indiana's men's sprint medley relay took second place, as Cornelius Strickland, Cortland Etgen, Chris Vaughn and Adam Behnke ran 3:23.47. The IU women were third in the sprint medley, getting a time of 4:04.08 out of Shawntanay Johnson, La Toya Williams, Elise Hunter and Erica Ridderman.

    The IU men took fourth in the 4x200m relay, as Nathan Pierre Louis, Cory Pierce, Nick Turner and Nick Stoner finished in 1:26.39.

    Richard Rouse was fourth in the men's triple jump, recording a best of 14.96m (49-1).
