Hoosiers Compete in Decathlon at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomores Stephen Keller and Dylan Anderson opened competition for the Indiana track & field team at the 87th edition of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Wednesday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
After the opening five of 10 events Keller is in 14th place with 3,616 points and Anderson find himself in 17th position with 3,575 points.
For Keller the most successful event of the day was the high jump. He cleared 2.02m (6-07.50), the second best mark in the field and earned 822 points for the effort. Anderson cleared 1.90m (6-02.75), which tied for sixth best jump and earned 714 points.
The top event for Anderson was the 100m dash, which he ran 11.15 for 827 points. Keller ran 11.30 in the 100m dash for 795 points.
Keller and Anderson will continue the decathlon tomorrow starting with the 110m hurdles at 11:00 a.m. ET. The 110m hurdles will be followed by the discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1500m run.
Thursday's action at the Texas Relays will also see junior Drew Volz compete in the pole vault.
