    Distance Medley Relay Highlights Day Two at Penn Relays

    PHILADELPHIA – Junior Rorey Hunter anchored the Hoosiers to a fifth-place finish in the Distance Medley Championship of America on day two of the Penn Relays Friday at Franklin Field.

     

    The Hoosier team of sophomore Jordan Gornall (2:57.99, 1200m), senior Derrick Morgan (47.17, 400m), freshman Tre’Tez Kinnaird (1:48.28, 800m) and Hunter (4:01.15, 1600m) finished in 9:34.60, the sixth fastest time in school history.

     

     Sophomore Robert Lewis finished in third-place in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.75m (15-7). Richard Rouse Jr. finished third in the long jump with a season-best of 7.16m (23-6).

    The IU women’s 4X200-meter finished in a time of 1:39.84, while the men’s 4X100-meter relay finished in 41.71.

     

    On Saturday the Hoosiers will race in the men’s 4XMile Championship of America and both men’s and women’s 4X800m Championships of America. Junior Drew Volz is also set to compete in the pole vault championship.

     

    Indiana alum Kind Butler will compete for team USA in the USA vs. World Men’s 4X400m relay.
