    Hunter Earns Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week Honors

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior Rorey Hunter was honored by the Big Ten as the men’s Track Athlete of the Week after splitting a 3:58.1 leg for the 1600m to anchor the Hoosiers to a school record in the distance medley relay at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday at Notre Dame.

     

    The team of redshirt sophomore Jordan Gornall, senior Derrick Morgan, freshman Tre’Tez Kinnaird and Hunter finished with a time of 9:27.72, the fifth fastest collegiate DMR of all-time.

     

    Hunter is the seventh Hoosier to be honored with a Big Ten weekly award for the indoor track & field season.

     

    Up next the Hoosiers compete in the Big Ten Indoor Championships Feb. 28-March 1 in Geneva, Ohio.
