BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IU athletics department honored several members of the staff who will be retiring this year at a reception today.

Among those was IU track & field and cross country staff assistant Trudy Wright, who has worked at IU for the last 20 years in football and track & field/cross country.

Wright worked with legendary IU track & field coach Sam Bell and has worked with current head coach Ron Helmer the last seven years.

Helmer thanked Wright for all she has done for the program at the team's annual banquet earlier this week.

"I mean this from the bottom of my heart, for my seven years here and a number of years before that, Trudy Wright has kept us all straight," Helmer said. "She has been the positive face of Indiana track & field and has done an incredible job representing us."
