BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – This week four IU student-athletes on the track and field team will travel to Eugene, Ore., for the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships. Tre’Tez Kinnaird, Chanli Mundy, Andrew Miller and Eric Claxon will represent Indiana.

Kinnaird set the 600-meter school record and ran on the Hoosiers distance medley relay team that set a school record and earned All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a third-place finish. Outdoors, Kinnaird finished second at the Big Ten Championships in the 800m and earlier in the season ran 1:47.9 for the 800m, the fastest time for a Hoosier since 1988.

The 2014 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships will serve as a qualifier for the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships. Top performers will be part of the American team that will have the unique opportunity to return to Eugene from July 22-27. The 2014 edition of the IAAF World Junior Championships marks the first time the event has ever been held in the United States.
