Hoosiers Sweep Track and Field Weekly Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Jordan Gornall and senior Arianne Raby earned Track Athlete of the Week honors, while sophomores Nina Gutermuth and Dylan Anderson took Field Athlete of the Week honors, the Big Ten announced today.
Raby, a native of Repentigny, Quebec, set an Indiana school record and NCAA leading time en route to winning the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:48.46.
In the women's pole vault sophomore Nina Gutermuth took the top spot with a mark of 3.80m (12-5.5). Her clearance is the ninth best height in school history. Gutermuth's mark is also 16th best in the NCAA this year so far.
The men's 1,000-meter dash was another great event for the Hoosiers as Gornall finished in second-place in 2:24.41. His time ties for the second best time in program history.
Anderson displayed dramatic improvement in the pentathlon as he finished in second place and was the top collegiate competitor with 3,779 points. Anderson's point total is 181 points higher than when he competed in the pentathlon at this meet last year.
The Hoosiers are back in action Jan. 11 as they host the Indiana Open at Gladstein Fieldhouse.
