Top-seeded Indiana Baseball lurched out to an early three-run lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back in a 4-2 victory over Minnesota (31-21). Starting pitcher Aaron Slegers surrendered a lone run in seven innings of work to earn his Big Ten-leading ninth win of the season. The #11 Hoosiers (41-13) advance to the semifinal of the winners' bracket and will face #2-seed Ohio State (35-21) Friday night at 7:05 pm CT/8:05 pm ET on the Big Ten Network.

Indiana track and field advanced . Taja Moore increased her career best significantly to punch her NCAA ticket in the discus, Scott Houston cleared the final three bars on the first attempt to clinch a spot in Eugene in the pole vault and Zach Mayhew kicked his way into the NCAA meet in the 10,000m in a slow race in a rainstorm. Indiana had 11 athletes compete on the day, with nine advancing.

Indiana's 101st Homecoming game on Saturday, Nov. 2, against Minnesota will kickoff at 3:30 p.m, the Big Ten Conference announced Thursday morning. The game will be televised on BTN or an ESPN platform.

It's time for postseason play as the 2013 Big Ten regular season champion Indiana University baseball team competes in the Big Ten Tournament starting on Thursday (May 23) after earning the No. 1 seed and first round bye. The 11th-ranked Hoosiers (40-13, 17-7) will face either Minnesota (30-20, 13-8), Illinois (33-16, 14-10) or Michigan (29-25, 14-10) Thursday night at approximately 7:05 pm CT/8:05 pm ET live on the Big Ten Network.

A school-record nine Hoosiers were named All-Big Ten on Tuesday (May 21), including the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, Aaron Slegers. In addition, Head Coach Tracy Smith was the unanimous choice for the league's Coach of the Year honor. Indiana also placed three student-athletes on the Big Ten's All-Freshman squad.

The 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships get underway this week with the Hoosiers headed to the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Greensboro, N.C., on the campus of North Carolina A&T. The Hoosiers advanced 26 athletes to the meet, with a total of 28 entries. The current regional format has been good to Indiana, as 38 Hoosiers have made their way to the NCAA Championships since the format was put into place three years ago.

Indiana University Wrestling finished fourth nationally in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's annual Division I All-Academic Top 30 Teams. Redshirt junior Ryan LeBlanc led the charge, earning Academic All-American honors for the second straight season.

Indiana men's tennis will be represented at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships in Urbana, Ill., as senior Isade Juneau and freshman Sam Monette open action on Thursday in the national doubles championship. The duo finished the season ranked No. 21 by the ITA. The two Hoosiers play Jonas Lutjen and Nik Scholtz of Mississippi in the first round.

Senior shortstop Michael Basil was selected as the Big Ten Player of the Week Monday (May 20), announced by the conference office. He becomes the fourth different Hoosier to earn the weekly accolade this season, and the fifth overall for Indiana.

For the first time since 1932, Indiana won the outright Big Ten baseball title by clinically dispatching Ohio State, 8-1, on the road. The Hoosiers (40-13, 17-7), handled the Buckeyes (34-21, 15-9) behind a masterful pitching performance from Kyle Hart and strong offensive production out of the gate.
