BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Did you know that by purchasing season tickets in all three of these sports--football, men's and women's basketball--you can earn a total of 15 accumulative priority points each year just by being a continuous supporter?
Priority points are used to allocate priority seating at football and men's basketball games. At the Varsity Club, we frequently get asked about ways donors can earn more priority points. In this edition of Priority Point Spotlight, we'll highlight the priority points you earn just by being a continuous season ticket holder.
The Indiana University Priority Point Policy was designed to ensure equitable consideration for the loyalty and financial support of the thousands of IU fans who wish to attend athletic events.
One of the key ways in which this is done is by rewarding the loyalty of fans that continue to purchase season tickets year after year. Five accumulative points are awarded for every continuous year that an individual purchases season tickets in each of these sports: football, men's basketball and women's basketball.
You must purchase season tickets every year to maintain these priority points. Points are granted at the end of each sport's respective season.
Priority points are not used for allocating seating at women's basketball games (general admission seating). Instead women's basketball season tickets are economically priced for general admission (2011-2012 price is $39). Nevertheless, women's basketball season ticket holders are able to secure their five accumulative points to help with priority seating at men's basketball and football games.
So, by supporting all three sports as a continuous season ticket holder, you can earn a total of 15 accumulative priority points every year!
Football Ticket Quantity Bonus
In addition to accumulative priority points, football is the only sport eligible for additional points based on the total number of season tickets purchased. For each football season ticket purchased for the previous season, you will receive 5 non-accumulative priority points.
For example, a family of four that purchases two adult tickets and two youth football season tickets will earn an extra 20 non-accumulative priority points!
Non-accumulative points are awarded on an annual basis, but expire at the end of the year. Football Ticket Quantity Bonus points are granted at the end of each football season.
Note: The IU Priority Point Policy is reviewed annually by the Varsity Club National Board of Directors and is subject to change.
