BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The IU Varsity Club has launched a new blog site, www.iuvcmadepossible.org, and a new text to give mobile campaign to grow its support for IU student-athlete scholarships.
The blog site will feature student-athlete profiles, donor profiles, special videos and additional content to explain the Varsity Club’s benefits and priority points. Visitors will also be able to request the Varsity Club’s giving guide or become a new donor through online and mobile gifts.
“Varsity Club donors provide the funding for 70 percent of IU ‘s student-athletes to receive scholarship assistance each year,” said Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass. “We’re thrilled to create this site to tell more of the great stories that Varsity Club donors make possible.”
“Sometimes people are unaware that IU Athletics pays full in-state and out-of-state tuition, fees, books, and room and board for our student-athletes on scholarships,” added Glass. “As the cost of an IU education rises so does our need to raise more funds for scholarships. We hope that the new blog site inspires our IU loyal fans and we’re delighted that the text to give campaign will make it easy to support our dedicated student-athletes.”
Anyone with a cell phone can make a $10.00 donation to support student-athlete scholarships by texting IU VARSITY to 20222.* Donations are tax deductible, and will be added to your monthly cell phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance. Messaging and data rates may apply. The Varsity Club’s text giving program is certified by the Mobile Giving Foundation and is administered through Give by Cell.
