About the Varsity Club

VC BrochureEstablished in 1954, the Varsity Club serves as the development arm of IU Athletics. Through its fundraising efforts, the Varsity Club enables 640 student-athletes in 24 varsity sports to receive quality academic and athletic experiences at Indiana University.

Varsity Club donors represent loyal and passionate Hoosier alumni, friends and fans. Their devotion to preserving and enhancing the rich tradition of IU Athletics makes a direct impact on Hoosier success and is important to maintaining our tradition of excellence at IU.

One hundred percent of Varsity Club donations benefit IU student-athletes. The financial support provided allows us to offer athletic scholarships to the most talented student-athletes. In total, student-athlete scholarship costs reached more than $9 million last year and are expected to rise by more than $2 Million by 2012. With the help of generous donors, the Varsity Club is ensuring our legacy continues for the next generation of student-athletes.

Varsity Club donors give in three primary ways:

Annual Giving Campaign for Student-Athletes
When you donate to Varsity Club Annual Giving Campaign, you make contributions on an annual basis that are used to provide student-athlete scholarships in all of IU's varsity sports. As a donor to this fund, you are also eligible for a number of benefits, including advance information about your favorite teams, discounted and reserved parking, priority points for preferred seating at football and basketball games, and much more.
