The Indiana men's cross country team earned its spot in the NCAA Championships with a second place finish at the 2011 NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday in Toledo. The Hoosiers tallied 70 points on the day, just 20 points behind Wisconsin. IU's top five runners finished in the top 30 overall including three in the top 10. The Indiana women took seventh-place overall to conclude its season.

The Indiana cross country teams will compete in the 2011 Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Nov. 12. This year, the meet will take place at the Ottawa Golf course and will be hosted by the University of Toledo.

Indiana cross country hosted the Hoosier Invitational on Friday afternoon in Bloomington. IU's top women's runner was Brianna Johnson, who placed third overall in the 5K race and the top men performer was JR Ricker who placed first in the 8K. With their top finishes, both Johnson and Ricker will be the seventh participant for each team at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

Indiana cross country will host its final home meet of the season with the Hoosier Invitational on Friday, Nov. 4. Championship season is in full swing and this year's invite will be used to determine who will run as the seventh participant in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional for both men's and women's teams.

The Indiana men's cross country team had an historical day at the 2011 Big Ten Championships on Sunday taking second place with four runners earning All-Big Ten accolades. The Hoosier women placed 10th overall on the day.

The Indiana cross country teams have hit the championship portion of the schedule for the 2011 season. This weekend marks the running of the annual Big Ten Championships, hosted this year by the University of Illinois in Champaign on Sunday, Oct. 30. The event will be broadcast on BTN on Nov. 11 at Noon ET.

Members of the Indiana cross country teams competed in Indiana State's Pre National Invitational on Sunday in Terre Haute, Ind., with the men's team placing eighth and the women's team finishing in 35th. Andy Bayer was the top Hoosier performer for the day finishing in 10th place in the men's race.

The Indiana cross country teams raced some of the top teams in the country in Wisconsin's adidas Invitational on Friday afternoon. The men's team placed fifth overall as the women finished 29th. Andrew Poore led the IU men with a 23rd place finish as Samantha Ginther paced the Hoosier ladies coming in 64th.

The Indiana cross country teams will compete in two events this weekend beginning with the Wisconsin adidas Classic in Madison, Wis. on Friday, Oct. 14, beginning at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET. The second meet of the weekend is the Pre National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday, Oct. 16, with the first race slated for 11 a.m. ET.

The Indiana cross country men's and women's teams both placed second at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday morning in Stillwater, Okla. Samantha Ginther paced the IU ladies finishing in fifth place, as Adrien Dannemiller was the first Hoosier to cross the line on the men's side in 10th place.

The Indiana Cross Country teams will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to participate in the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State University. The event is one of the largest non-championship cross country meets in the country and has been held at OSU since 1934, making it the oldest cross country race in America.

The Indiana women's cross country team took first place at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet on Friday in Bloomington. It was the third-consecutive title in the event for the Hoosier women. Chelsea Blanchard crossed the line in first place overall, making it back-to-back individual wins for her in this annual meet. The IU men took second place in the team points.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Cross Country teams will play host to the annual Indiana Intercollegiates on Friday, Sept. 16, at the IU Championship Cross Country Course. The meet consists of three races. The open race, featuring women running a 5K and men running an 8K, begins at 3:30 p.m. ET. The women's championship and men's championship races will follow after the open race.
