The Indiana men's and women's cross country teams reported back to campus this week and began practice on Tuesday.
Zach Mayhew becomes the first Hoosier win the individual conference crown since 1992.
2013-14 (R-FRESHMAN): Cross Country: finished in 10th place at the Big Ten Championships in an 8,000m time of 24:36.2...The men's cross country team won the Big Ten Championship for the first time since 1980 and finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Championships for the third time in the last four years with an eighth-place finish...finished in 17th place at the Great Lakes Regional Championship in a 10K time of 30:43 to earn All-Region honors...ran a season-best time in the 8K of 24:11.9 at the Pre-National Invitational...was the Hoosiers fourth runner at the NCAA Championships with an 81st place finish in 31:09.6 for the 10K race. Indoor: ran the ninth fastest time in school history for the 3,000m run of 8:01.51 to finish in fourth-place at the Hoosier Hills Invitational...finished in 10th place at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in the 5,000m run in 14:07.84. Outdoor: ran a season-best time of 14:06.66 in the 5K at the Stanford Invitational...finished in fourth-place at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the 5K in 14:11.01...finished in seventh-place in the 5K at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in 14:11.63 to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships...finished in 17th place in the 5K at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 14:08.38 to earn Honorable Mention All America honors.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN): Cross Country: Finished 14th at the Kansas Rim Rock Classic and scored for Indiana in a time of 24:18.6 ... was the fifth Hoosier to finish at the Adidas Inviational in Madison Wis. ... placed 25th overall in the Big Ten Championships, clocking in at 24:31 ... came in 40th place at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in 32:12 ... participated in the NCAA Championships race and finished the course in 31:39.9.
