    2013-14 (R-SOPHOMORE): Cross Country: ran a season-best time of 25:07.4 in the 8,000m run at the Pre-National Invitational...finished in eighth-place at the Hoosier Open in 25:33.3...opened the season with a 14th place finish at the Indiana Open. Indoor: finished in third-place at the Indiana-Purdue dual meet in the 800m run in 1:54.35...ran a season-best time in the mile of 4:10.77 to finish in sixth-place at the Meyo Invitational...finished in 17th place in the 800m run at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in 1:53.38. Outdoor: finished in third-place in the 3,000m steeplechase in a season-best time of 8:54.17 at the Penn Relays...finished in 18th place in the 3K steeplechase at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships...qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round and finished in 40th place in the 3K steeplechase.

    2012-13 (R-FRESHMAN): Cross Country: Participated in the Indiana Open, the Indiana Intercollegiates open race, Pre-Nationals and the Hoosier Inviational ... finished sixth overall in the Hoosier Invite in a time of 25:27.

    2011-12 (REDSHIRT): Cross Country: Reshirted.

    PREP: Holds Lawrence North school records in the open 800m (1:53.51) and in the 800m split (1:52.5) ... was named Lawrence North Athlete of the Year ... placed 27th in the 2010 IHSAA state cross country meet ... finished third in the state in the 4x800m in 2009 ... part of the team that holds the sectional record time in the 4x800m ... was a fifth place finisher at the 2010 state meet in the 800m run ... helped lead Lawrence North to a second-place state finish as a team in 2008 and a seventh-place state finish in 2010.

    PERSONAL: Born Nov. 3, 1992 ... business major ... son of Kathy Roche.

    Coach Helmer: "Josh has performed very consistently in the middle distance events the past couple of years while having to deal with a fairly inconsistent level of training. Once we find a way to keep him consistently healthy I think he has the ability to make some really solid improvement. Once his strength improves we also see him as a steeplechase candidate."
