    Mayhew Finishes in Top 10 at Adidas Invitational

    Men's Results Get Acrobat Reader | Women's Results Get Acrobat Reader

    MADISON, Wis. - Indiana's Zach Mayhew finished sixth in the men's race of the Adidas Invitational on Friday afternoon in a very competitive field. He helped lead the IU men's cross country team to a 15th place finish overall.

    Mayhew clocked in at 23:31 in the 8K race and just 17 seconds behind him was Andy Bayer in 23rd position (23:48). The Hoosiers tallied 462 team points as No. 8 Stanford took home the team title in the 48-team field. Other runners scoring for the Indiana men were Adam Behnke (124th, 24:24), Robby Nierman (129th, 24:25 and Matt Schwartzer (180th, 24:37).

    The IU women's team was led by Kelsey Duerksen who placed 77th overall in a time of 20:41 in the 6K run. Arianne Raby crossed the line in 134th in 21:00 and Caitlin Engel placed 170th, finishing in 21:11. Overall, the lady Hoosiers placed 35th.

    Other members of the Hoosier cross country program will compete at the Pre-Nationals meet on Saturday morning in Louisville, Ky. Indiana's men's team will run at 10:45 a.m. ET as the women will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET.
