Hoosier Cross Country Men Finish First in Unseeded Race at Pre-Nats

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Indiana men's cross country runners that participated in the unseeded race at Pre-Nationals on Saturday finished in first place as a team. There were four total races on the day, a men's seeded and unseeded 8K run and a women's seeded and unseeded 6K run. Both IU men's and women's squads that were in Louisville participated in the unseeded races. The Hoosiers women placed 22nd in their competition.
For the men, JR Ricker was the first Hoosier to cross the line in 20th place overall in a time of 24:44.5. Six seconds later, the second IU runner to finish was Nolan Fife in 25th position in 24:50.5. Nate Morrow clocked in at 24:55.0 in 27th overall before Owen Skeete finished in 34th in 25:00.7. The last Hoosier to score was Joe Holahan with a 45th place finish in 25:10.2. With many runners in the unseeded race not participating in the team competition, IU scored a total of 83 points to take the team title out of 24 squads.
The next competition for Indiana cross country will open the championship portion of the schedle as IU will head to Michigan State for the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, Oct. 28.
