BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana cross country hosted the Hoosier Invitational on Friday afternoon in Bloomington. IU's top women's runner was Brianna Johnson, who placed third overall in the 5K race and the top men performer was JR Ricker who placed first in the 8K. With their top finishes, both Johnson and Ricker will be the seventh participant for each team at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
There was no team score for this event as Johnson crossed the line in a time of 18:39.46. Placing first and running unattached was Rebecca Walter, and taking second also unattached was Erica Ridderman. Indiana's Molly Winter came in fourth with a time of 18:54.33 followed by Christine Kirby in seventh in 19:07.11. Ashley Seymour took 12th place in 19:23.33. Rounding out the Hoosier participants were Jordan Gray in 14th, Haley Staples in 16th, Samantha Gwin in 18th and Ashley Baker in 19th.
