SOPHOMORE YEAR: 2012
Started 59 of 60 games; playing second, third and shortstop ... closed out Sembower Field by hitting .390 and reaching base at a .425 clip in 22 home games ... batted .263 with a homerun, 18 RBI, 11 doubles, two triples, 25 runs scored and six stolen bases for the season ... reached base successfully in 23 consecutive games, a stretch that included a 10-game hitting streak ... recorded a pair of hits in seven of the 10 games during the streak ... ranked third on the team with 19 total multi-hit games ... blew up against Eastern Kentucky, going 4-for-4 with three RBI, three runs scored, a double and a triple ... an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Stellar all-around athlete earned four letters in baseball for Scott Upp at LaPorte in addition to three letters each in football and basketball ... was an all-conference selection and was named to the all-area team in all three sports as a senior ... earned Baseball Player of the Year honors from the Michigan City News-Dispatch and LaPorte Herald-Argus ... also collected First Team All-Area honors from the Northwest Indiana Times, earned a spot in the North/South All-Star game and was a finalist for Indiana's Mr. Baseball ... hit .531 as a senior with a .646 slugging percentage, 12 stolen bases and 38 runs to just five strikeouts ... led LaPorte to a 27-4 record and Duneland Conference and sectional championships ... finished his career with record .446 average for a school that has 44 straight 20-win seasons ... hit .455 as a junior to earn all-area honors in addition to all-conference honors in all three sports he played and a selection of Most Valuable Player in both football and basketball ... finished his career with just 17 strikeouts in 300 at-bats ... majoring in Exercise Science ... parents are Dave and Judy DeMuth ... has one brother, David, and two sisters, Jenny and Julie ...
