    SOPHOMORE YEAR: 2007
    Played in 48 games with 38 starts ... posted a .264 average with one home run, 12 RBIs and 23 runs scored ... also stole four bases and had four outfield assists ... after starting the season in an 0-for-17 slump, posted a .304 average for the remainder of the year ... his first hit of the season was a two-out, RBI single in the ninth inning against North Florida (3/13) that tied the game at 6-6 ... posted a career-high four hits in a 4-for-4 performance against Florida A&M (3/16) where he scored three runs and drove in two ... went 2-for-4 with his first career home run against Purdue (4/13) ... had hits in 10-of-11 games from April 15-29, raising his average to a season-high .302 ... went 8-for-14 in the series at Ohio State (4/20-22), driving in three runs and scoring two.

    FRESHMAN YEAR: 2006
    Started six games and played in 21 ... appeared in seven contests with two starts on the mound ... struck out six batters in 14 1/3 innings ... picked up a hit, an RBI and a steal against Ball State (5/16) ... 1-for-3 with a stolen base at Miami (Fla.) on 3/5 ... made his first start as a Hoosier in the season opener at Charlotte (2/24).

    All-Long Island, all-state, all-county, Gold Glove award winner and team Most Valuable Player during his senior season in 2005 ... as a senior, batted .438 with five home runs, 36 runs, nine doubles, one triple and 14 stolen bases ... set the school career stolen base record with 42 ... three-time all-league member guided Smithtown to three league championships, three county finals and one county championship ... also played football and track ... named all-county and team MVP in football while setting the school's single-season interception record with seven ... was an all-league hurdler ... has two brothers, Brian and Matthew ... parents are Craig and Denise Hervey.
