    JUNIOR YEAR: 2011
    Pitched 51 innings over the course of 14 appearances and eight starts ... picked off four runners, ranking fifth in the Big Ten ... struck out 10 and allowed just one hit in a six-inning shutout performance against Morehead State (4/20), retiring 18 straight batters at one point ... hurled seven scoreless innings at Ball State (3/23), picking up the `W' ... made a 2.1-inning relief showing in the 13-inning victory over Morehead State earlier in the season (3/4), surrendering just one hit while blanking the Eagles ... the Hoosiers were 6-2 in games which he started ... totaled 35 strikeouts and four wins on the season.

    SOPHOMORE YEAR: 2010
    Was the turnaround story of the year for the Hoosiers, going 9-3 with a 4.04 ERA ... posted a scoreless streak of 28 2/3 innings early in the season, which was the longest in school history and the second longest in the nation in 2010 ... struck out 67 batters and allowed just 28 walks in 98 innings of work ... tossed a pair of shutouts for the Hoosiers ... gritted his way through a knee injury for most of the year after an impressive performance against Akron ... had a brilliant 2010 debut, throwing 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball in game two of Saturday's doubleheader with San Diego (2/20) ... started against West Virginia (2/26) and rebounded after a poor start to strike out three in 5 2/3 innings of work, allowing just two unearned runs after the first inning ... went 7 2/3 innings against Kent State (3/6), punching out a career-best eight and surrendering just five hits and three walks ... had a brilliant complete-game shutout, IU's first since 2006, against Central Michigan, fanning four (3/14) ... picked up third win on the season, going six scoreless vs. Akron (3/20) ... threw the final three innings against Louisville (3/30), surrendering just two hits ... allowed just five hits and one walk in 6 1/3 innings against Michigan (4/4) ... allowed just four unearned runs in a nine-inning win over Ohio State (4/10), striking out eight ... scattered seven hits over 7 2/3 innings in a win over Iowa (4/17) ... went seven innings and allowed eight hits in a no-decision at Michigan State (5/16) ... had seven strikeouts in a win over Illinois (5/20), tossing eight strong innings ... tossed his second shutout of the year in a seven-strikeout performance against Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament.

    FRESHMAN YEAR: 2009
    Pitched in 15 games and made four starts for the Hoosiers ... went 0-2 with a 9.91 ERA in 26 1/3 innings ... pitched a 1-2-3 inning in his IU debut against Georgetown (2/21) ... made his first career start at Indiana State (3/3) ... went three innings against Bowling Green (3/14) to collect a save ... registered scoreless relief appearances against Eastern Illinois (3/17), Stetson (3/18) and CCSU (3/21) ... was solid in 2 2/3 innings of relief against Minnesota (3/27), striking out one ... started at Cincinnati (4/1), allowing one earned run in two innings ... struck out a pair of PSU hitters to finish off IU's game two win over the Lions (4/18) ... threw three strong innings against Indiana State (4/22) ... allowed two hits and one run against Miami (4/28) in 1 2/3 innings out of the pen ... threw the final 2/3 of an inning against Purdue (5/2) ... started against Evansville (5/12) and pitched 2 1/3 solid innings.

    PREP/PERSONAL:
    Played alongside fellow Hoosier Alex Dickerson under head coach Bob Parry and pitching coach Dominick Johnson at Poway, where he earned two letters ... was named first team All-San Diego and first team All-Palomar League as a senior ... picked up pitching MVP honors for Poway, as he posted an 8-0 record with a 2.25 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings ... led Poway to a 31-6 season, as they were ranked the top team in the state by MaxPreps and the No. 11 team in the nation by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and the No. 10 team by Perfect Game ... one of eight Poway players to move on to the Division I ranks in the last two seasons ... as a junior, went 2-1 while allowing just 20 hits in 18 innings in limited action for a stacked Poway squad ... one of the top all-around athletes in the area, as he was the only player at his school to earn letters in basketball, baseball and football in the same season ... led his football team to the state finals and a San Diego county championship ... majoring in communications at IU ... parents are Lance and Sue Ann Leininger ... has one sister, Heidi, and two brothers, Brian and Greg ... born on April 9, 1990.
