    SOPHOMORE YEAR: 2010
    Lefty pitcher suffered a shoulder injury in the season opener and was limited to just 3 1/3 innings on the season ... was able to contribute offensively for the Hoosiers, hitting .229 with six RBI and a .357 on-base percentage ... struck out three in his 2010 debut vs. USD (2/19), having his start cut short by an injury ... started in the batting order for the first time, setting up at DH against Miami (3/14) ... had his first hit as a Hoosier with a single against Morehead State (3/23) ... knocked two hits and drove in three runs against Xavier (3/24) ... had a key, pinch-hit RBI single in the opener with Michigan (4/2) ... returned to the mound in the finale with Ohio State (4/11) ... had a 2-for-3 day in a start at Michigan State (5/15).

    FRESHMAN YEAR: 2009
    Had a solid freshman season, starting on Fridays for most of the year while posting a 5-3 record with a 4.64 ERA ... was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team with 59 strikeouts and a .251 batting average against ... went five innings in his Hoosier debut, picking up the win and striking out six in five innings against USF (2/22) ... pitched a 1-2-3 inning against Cleveland State (3/1) ... started against Le Moyne (3/8) and struck out six in seven innings, allowing just four hits and three walks ... pitched five innings of no-hit ball against Jacksonville State (3/15) before running into trouble in the sixth and picking up a no-decision ... was brilliant against Ohio State (3/20), allowing four hits and two walks over seven innings and setting down 15 straight Buckeyes at one point ... struck out a career-high seven in the opener against Illinois (4/3) ... allowed nine hits and two walks in the win ... hurled his first career complete game at Iowa (4/10), striking out nine while allowing 10 hits and two walks ... suffered a tough-luck loss in the opener against Michigan (4/24), giving up five hits over six innings, but allowing five unearned runs in a 6-2 defeat ... collected no-decisions in starts against Purdue (5/3) and Northwestern (5/10) ... picked up a win over Ohio State (5/22) at the Big Ten Tournament, allowing five hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings of work.

    Pitched three seasons for Brian Keuster and South Spencer ... drafted in the 26th round of the MLB Draft by the New York Yankees ... was named a high school All-American by Collegiate Baseball and finished third in the voting for Indiana's Mr. Baseball ... was named First Team All-State by the Indianapolis Star ... had an outstanding season for South Spencer, posting a 0.49 ERA with 82 strikeouts in 43 innings during the regular season ... also was impressive at the plate, hitting .644 from the left side ... burst onto the scene as a junior with a 9-0 record and a 0.69 ERA, as he helped the Rebels take home the 2007 2A State Championship ... also hit .522 at the plate for South Spencer ... earned First Team All-State honors for his efforts ... helped his American Legion squad to a regional championship and earned Great Lakes Region 5 MVP honors in the process ... pitched in the summer of 2008 for the vaunted Midland Redskins, hurling a two-hit shutout in a victory at the Connie Mack World Series ... parents are Jeff and Marcia Monar ... has one sister, Brittney, who is currently attending IU ... majoring in general studies ... born on June 16, 1989.
