WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Despite Alex Dickerson reaching base in all five at-bats and a total of 11 team hits, Indiana Baseball (25-18, 6-8 Big Ten) came up on the wrong end of a 6-2 final tally on Saturday at Purdue (29-13, 9-5).

Dickerson was a one-man wrecking ball in game two of the three-game series. The Poway, Calif., native went 4-for-4 with a walk, RBI-double and run scored. Through the first two games against Purdue, Dickerson is hitting .667 (6-9) with a homerun, two RBI and three runs. His current hitting streak has been extended to 13 games, the longest of any Hoosier this season.

Jerrud Sabourin and Wes Wilson have been hot from the plate as well. Both recorded a pair of hits on Saturday to go along with three hits apiece in Friday's contest. They are hitting a combined 10-for-21 on the weekend.

Indiana's defensive blunders carried over from the series opener into Saturday's contest. A Hoosier error and two walks contributed to a pair of unearned runs to go along with two of the earned variety as Purdue jumped out to the 4-0 lead in the second inning.

The Boilermakers then tacked on a run in the sixth and seventh innings, increased the lead to six runs. Dickerson was then finally awarded for reaching base in the bottom half of the seventh. After a lead-off single, Wilson and Dustin DeMuth followed with singles of their own to bring Dickerson around for the score.

Dickerson reversed roles in the ninth, being the one to drive in the run. DeMuth came in all the way from first when Dickerson drilled through a strong wind and off the wall in right field for the stand-up double. Sabourin kept the rallying going with a single in the next at-bat. A foul ball caught by the catcher ended the rally, however.
