    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Fifth-year senior Ryan Smith was Indiana's top closer last season and he returns in 2003. Smith set the IU single-season record for saves with nine in his junior campaign. Smith, a native of Carmel, Ind. (Westfield High School), compiled a 3.06 ERA in 32.1 innings of work. He helped the Hoosiers to a fourth-place finish in the Big Ten and an apperance in the conference tournament for the first time since winning the title in 1996.     1. The best thing about playing baseball at Indiana is: my teammates
