Spotlight on Joe Trucchio
After losing nine letterwinners from last season's squad, the Indiana baseball team welcomes 17 newcomers this season. In the coming weeks, we will feature each IU newcomer leading up to the team's Feb. 22 opener against DePauw. Joe Trucchio is next up in the spotlight.
Joining Brad Davidson as a late signee to the Hoosiers is pitcher Joe Trucchio. The 6-3 righthander enters IU with sophomore eligibility. Trucchio attended Mentone Grammar High School in Melbourne, Australia.
The son of Frank Trucchio and Julie Debondt-Barker has one sibling, Stef.
HEAD COACH BOB MORGAN ON TRUCCHIO:
"Joe is an outstanding right-handed pitcher who throws with a three-quarter delivery. We feel Joe has the potential to be a very good pitcher right away, as he brings a lot of maturity to the mound."
TRUCCHIO ON CHOOSING IU:
"Indiana is one of the top academic schools in the country, and the campus is beautiful."
