Murray, Ky--The Indiana men's baseball team extended its winning streak to six, as the Hoosiers topped Murray State twice today 7-5 and 9-2.
In the first game, IU got started early as they put five runs on the board in the top of the first. Benji Clause, Eric Blakeley, Rich Berich, Blake St. Clair and Rob Stastny all had hits in the first.
Indiana collected its final two runs in the fifth. Jason Williams' single to right scored St. Clair and Dan Haegele. Brad Edwards collected the win for IU. His six-inning effort puts his record at 2-1 for the season. Chris Wilson earned his first save of the year.
In the second game, the Hoosiers trampled the Thuroughbreads 9-2. Clause, Tim McNab, St. Clair, and Williams each had two hits. St. Clair had two RBI, and Clause, Berich and John Bestler each had one RBI.
Zach McClellan picked up his first win of the season (1-1), pitching five innings and giving up one run. Matt Rice relieved McClellan, also giving up one run in two innings' work.
Indiana is now 9-3, and will face Murray State again on Sunday (1 p.m.).
