Bloomington, Ind.--Senior right hander Chad Smith tossed six strong innings as the Indiana Baseball team routed Valparaiso 14-3 this afternoon at Sembower Field.

Indiana did the big damage in the fifth with five runs on six hits. Blake St. Clair led off the inning with a triple and scored on Dan Haegele's ground out. Then DeVore slammed his seventh home run of the year to put Indiana ahead 7-2.
Chris Wilson followed that with a triple and scored on Frank O'Connell's single. Two batters later, catcher Eric Farley ripped a double to score O'Connell and Williams to put the Hoosiers up 10-2.
Todd Poepard led Valparaiso with a 2-4 afternoon, including two runs scored.
The Hoosiers leave tomorrow for Boca Raton, Florida for a week of games during Spring Break. Indiana opens the trip with a Saturday contest with Iona at Florida Atlantic University.
