Hoosiers Sweep #9 Louisville & Toledo
Indiana Baseball swept a nonconference doubleheader on Saturday, topping #9 Louisville (7-3) and Toledo (2-4) inside Jim Patterson Stadium. The #17 Hoosiers (4-5) banged out 22 hits on the day, including nine for extra bases. IU notched final tallies of 8-3 over UT and 6-2 versus the host Cardinals.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Hoosier Baseball (9-8) faces Louisville (15-4) for the second time this season on Wednesday (March 19), hosting the Cardinals at 4:05 pm ET inside Bart Kaufman Field. Indiana has won four of five meetings with UL over the past two seasons, including a 6-2 triumph at Louisville on March 1.

It'll be a battle of fresh arms on the mound as expected sophomore starters LHP Sullivan Stadler (IU) and RHP Anthony Kidston (UL) have combined to pitched five innings this season. Both have yet to suffer a blemish on their 0.00 earned run averages.

Indiana ranks in the top-30 nationally for attendance, averaging 2,195 fans per game thus far.

AN UNWELCOME SIGHT FOR THE CARDINALS
Joey DeNato has made three starts versus Louisville in his career, totaling 20 innings and 15 strikeouts. He is 2-0 against the Cardinals while surrendering a lone unearned run. DeNato opened up the 2013 College World Series with a complete game shutout of UL in the Hoosiers' first Omaha contest.

    PERFECT PITCH
Indiana's staff earned run average of 2.68 is not only best in the Big Ten, but leads by a large margin. The next clostest team ERA is nearly a half run back, Michigan State's 3.21 clip. Scott Effross and Joey DeNato lead the charge with the conference's fourth- and sixth-best individual ERAs of 1.71 and 1.95, respectively. Luke Harrison paces IU with a 1.29 ERA but his 14 innings pitched are just shy of the minimum required to qualify for the league rankings.

    Kyle Hart ON A ROLL
In the last two weeks, Kyle Hart has accumulated two wins, a save and 13 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched. He has allowed just one earned run (two total) during the hot streak. His win over Kentucky last week garnered him Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors. Hart's .157 batting average against overall this season is tops in the conference.

    A QUANTITY OF QUALITY
Staff ace Joey DeNato is one of 19 pitchers nationally to contribute a `quality start' (at least six innings with three or less earned runs) in each of his first five starts this season. Three others are currently 4-for-4 in 2014.

    BASE PATH THIEVERY
Casey Rodrigue broke loose during IU's road series victory at Jacksonville, stealing five bases in as many attempts; including a 3-steal day in game two. It marked the first Hoosier to swipe three bags in a game since Micah Johnson did so vs. Evansville on March 27, 2011. The Louisiana native led all of NJCAA D-II and D-III with 68 stolen bases for LSU-Eunice in 2013. For the season, Rodrigue ranks sixth in the Big Ten with a half dozen steals.
