BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Baseball (6-13) will square off against Eastern Kentucky (7-11) in a pair of non-conference midweek games. The Hoosiers will hop on the road for tilt on Tuesday at EKU before opening up the 2012 home schedule with the return match back in Bloomington on Wednesday. Both games are 3pm EST start times.

The homecoming could not come at a better time for the Hoosiers, who after Tuesday will have played 20 straight on the road to open the season. The team is coming home after a 3-5 stint in California over spring break, which included one win apiece against Cal State Northridge, University of San Diego and Loyola Marymount.

Joey DeNato was impressive for the Hoosiers on the mound during the trip. The sophomore southpaw allowed just one earned run in seven innings in a win against Cal State Northridge on March 9, then went the distance in a 3-1 win against Loyola Marymount last Thursday. His efforts earned him Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors.

The inexperienced IU offense will look to gain some consistency against EKU. Currently, just over 60 percent of the Hoosier offense is being produced by freshmen, which make up four of the team's top five hitters.

Indiana will take on an Eastern Kentucky squad that has recovered of late after a rough start. The Colonels took one of three at home last weekend against Bowling Green, but have gone 4-3 in their last seven after losing the previous seven games.

Most of the Colonel offense this season has been provided by senior infielder Richie Rodriguez. The Miami native is batting .364 and has belted seven homeruns and 20 RBI, all team highs.

On the mound, the Hoosiers will face a pair of right-handers in freshman Cody Creamer and sophomore Blake Bottoms. Creamer, who sports a 5.06 ERA in over five innings of work will pitch on Tuesday, while Bottoms, who has allowed nine runs in over four innings will take the mound on Wednesday.

On the mound for Indiana will be freshman RHP Luke Harrison on Tuesday. He will be making his second career start and third appearance. Wednesday's starting pitcher is to be determined.
