Bloomington, Ind.--The Indiana Baseball team evened things up today defeating Western Michigan 6-1 at Sembower Field. With the victory, IU climbs to 18-3 overall.
Senior RHP Jason Torres threw a complete game today as he picked up the win improving his record to 2-0. Torres only allowed one run and five walks while striking out 11 batters.
"Jason did a great job today. He is really looking strong," Coach Bob Morgan said about his hurler.
Senior 2B Benji Clause led the Hoosier going 3-4 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored. Mark Minor helped put with two hits of his own and three RBI.
After one inning, the Hoosiers led 2-1 and never looked back. They added three runs in the fourth followed by a run in the sixth to secure the 6-1 victory.
Western Michigan pitcher Angelo Palazetti threw 5.1 innings giving up all six runs before giving way to Kody Naylor in the sixth.
IU and WMU have one more game in this weekend series tomorrow, March 28, at Sembower Field. Action is set to start at 1 p.m.
