Baseball to Host Pitch, Hit and Run Competition
April 3, 2007
The Indiana baseball team will be hosting a pitch, hit and run competition on Sunday, April 8, following the IU baseball game against Northwestern. The competition is free to all youths under the age of 13. Fans are encouraged to come support the baseball and softball teams in their Sunday matchups and then stay for the competition.
Participants will be judged in three areas of competition, with the top three overall finishers receiving an IU Prize Pack. In the pitching portion, youths will have three pitches to throw as many strikes as they can. Hitters will be graded on the distance they hit a ball off a tee, and for the running segment, participants will be timed on how fast they can run from first to second base.
Fans can either bring their entry form with them on the day of the game, fax it to (812) 855-9401 or email it to email@example.com. The Indiana baseball team takes on Northwestern at 1 p.m. at Sembower Field while the softball team will host a doubleheader with the Wildcats at the IU Softball Field beginning at noon. Both events are free admission and the fields are located at the corner of Fee Lane and Foster.
