Hoosiers Knock Off Blue Jays in Exhibition Contest

Bloomington, Ind. The Indiana baseball team took to the field for an exhibition contest against the Ontario Blue Jays on Tuesday afternoon at Sembower Field.
The Ontario Blue Jays are an 18-and-under touring baseball team from Ontario, Canada. The Jays gave the Hoosiers a contest today. The Hoosiers defeated the Blue Jays, 7-4, this afternoon.
Senior Michael Woodside led the Hoosiers after he hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead for good at 6-4. Woodside finished the day 2-3 with a home run, two RBI and a walk.
Senior Mark Minor went 3-4 with a double, two singles and a RBI. Classmate Bill Geiger also went 2-3 for the Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers get back into competition when they head to Minneapolis, Minn. for a crucial four-game set against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Hoosiers have a record of 28-10, 9-6 in the Big Ten and the Gophers come in with a mark of 16-20 overall and 8-6 in the conference. The series gets underway on Friday night with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch at Siebert Field in Minneapolis.
