April 25, 1999 HOOSIERS DEFEAT MINNESOTA 11-10
Bloomington, Ind.--Despite a three-run charge in the ninth, the Indiana Hoosiers managed to defeat the Minnesota Golden Gophers 11-10 this afternoon at Sembower Field. IU won one game of the four game series to move to 29-12 overall and 7-9 in the Big Ten.
Senior 1B Chris Stroble led the Hoosier attack going 3-3 and scoring three runs on Senior Day. His batting average skyrocked from .222 to .385 after his performance.
LF Blake St. Clair and 2B Sam Incandela also had good offensive games today. St. Clair hit 3-4 with five RBI and one run while Incandela was 3-5 with two runs and one RBI. In total, the Hoosiers clubbed 13 hits.
Junior RHP Zach McClellan recorded his fifth win of the year to remain undefeated. He threw five innings allowing seven hits and three runs while punching out three batters. Junior RHP Chris Wilson came on in the seventh after a brief inning by sophomore LHP Nick Otte to tally his second save of the year.
The Hoosiers travel to Valparaiso for a midweek game Wednesday, April 28 at 3 p.m. They remain on that neck of the woods for a weekend series against Northwestern.
